AGF MISSION: Netherlands - Vietnam Partnership on Agri & Food Business

Thursday, April 18, 2013

The Netherlands has the advantage of advanced technology in the field of agriculture. Vietnam has enormous output and high potential agriculture, but less effectiveness in harvest for maximum profit. So the co-operation between the Dutch agricultural enterprises and Vietnam agriculture partners will bring benefits to both.

To share knowledge and experiences with the Dutch experts in the field of high-tech agriculture, and wish to explore opportunities for cooperation and investment, VCT has organized a Horticulture & Food Mission10th to 14th of March, 2013. With the topic  ‘Netherlands Vietnam Partnership on Agri- & Food Business’  these seminarsbring to Vietnam many advanced technologies such as large-scale production of natural enemies and pollinators taking place in modern production facilities in order to reduce fertilizer, insecticide; durable, efficient and innovative solutions in the areas of Climate and Energy, Water and Nutrition and Labor and Productivity in greenhouse; high quality water storage tanks and control/irrigation equipment; a complete range of electro-mechanical drive systems for the motion of air vents, screens, flaps, heating and feed lines, primarily in the agricultural sector... In this group, there was representative of the Netherlands Agricultural University.

The panorama of the seminar

After the seminar in 11th March 2013 in Dalat City, VCT organized not only these collective visiting to Vietnamese agro companies but also individual visiting for particular Dutch companies. Discussing with Vietnam’s partners in networking, part 2 of seminar and collective visiting, the Dutch companies realized their own potential partners. Some has at least three Vietnamese potential partners while some has lots of ones matching their criteria

It was so helpful for the Dutch companies to have the objective overview of Vietnam’s market and perspective of horticulture.

A representative of the Agro mission said that many Dutch companies have discovered the potential agricultural market in Vietnam, so they will increase cooperation with Vietnam’s enterprises to develop and guide Vietnam to one of these high-tech agricultural countries. The approach is a good first step for agricultural enterprises in the two countries to work together next time. Not only Dutch companies but also Vietnamese ones were so satisfied with content of the agro seminars. Many Vietnam’ large scale agro companies and public centers
registered and gave good feedback to VCT. Moreover, these representatives of Holland companies were really pleased with logistic and logical AGF program both in Dalat City and Ho Chi Minh City. Especially, the leader board of AHTP not only sincerely sent thanks letter to the agro mission and VCT but also express concern with content of seminar. They would like to co-operate with the Dutch companies with the support of VCT as soon as possible.
