Vietnam – Netherlands Seminar and B2B Meet & Greet in Energy sector

One of the activities expected by businesses is the Netherlands & Vietnam Forum on Economic Collaboration, with one of the important topics Seminar and B2B Meet & Greet in Energy sector.

The Netherlands & Vietnam Forum on Economic Collaboration, held on 24 September in the the Hague (the Netherlands), has attracted the participation of approximately 250 delegates from the ministries, sectors, authorities and from nearly 150 businesses & groups of the two countries. In his opening speech, Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai said the bilateral cooperation in trade and investment has entered a new stage of development and called on the two business communities to tap their great cooperation potential, especially in energy, ship building, education, agriculture, garments and textiles.

In order to have good chance to meet with the Vietnamese delegation and to explore the opportunities in the Vietnamese energy sector, Vietnam Consult & Trading BV (VCT) – as coordinator of AETIN, has organized, in co-operation with the Vietnamese Embassy, Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Seminar and B2B Meet & Greet in Energy sector – as a part of the Forum between the Netherlands and Vietnam.

The forum on Vietnam – Netherlands Economic Cooperation

The seminar took place in the presence of high ranked officials from Vietnam’s government and senior management of Energy related companies and groups, such as Vietnam General Department of Energy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas), etc. with the participation of the Dutch energy businesses who are interested in Vietnam energy market.

In his presentation in the seminar, Mr Nguyen Khac Tho, Deputy Director General of General Department of Energy (MoIT) stated “The current situation and Vietnam’s government policy for development of energy sector”. Following were the presentations of Mr Nguyen Tai Anh, EVN’s Deputy General Director and Mr Nguyen Quoc Thap, Petrovietnam’s Vice President. The information from the Vietnam representatives has helped Dutch representatives more understand the situation of Vietnam's energy development, the Vietnam’s government policy for development of energy sector and energy projects calling for investment, etc.

The delegates and businessmen of the two countries had extensive discussions about the opportunities for cooperation between the two sides, exchanged directly and openly about the energy issues of mutual interest. Many Dutch investors expressed their confidence that the early signing of a free trade agreement (FTA) between Vietnam - EU will contribute to further promote economic relations between the two countries.

In the Meet & Greet session between the businesses of the two countries, more information has been recorded by representatives of the businesses, promising the next steps of potential cooperation.

The program ended with the Networking Drink in a happy and intimate atmosphere, with the continuation of the previous talks, and additional talks that start for cooperation opportunities in the future.
